Background.texas is an interesting woman, you would look at her and think she's your average courier, but then it comes up that she's actually not. as a former mafia made-woman for a now extinct family, she's prone to having her moments of unusual behavior; from commenting to her best friend that she would be fortunate to die fast had she gone around pranking others in siracusa to really, her day by day being more unusual in the chaos around her. she's aloof, cold, and seemingly uncaring, but the reality is that she's underneath it a caring woman that would protect those important to her most while also finding weaknesses in others to be not worth her time or effort to deal with.
all of this stems from her childhood growing up in the famed texas familiga of siracusa/columbia. texas had spent most of her formative years doted upon by her grandfather and often told stories about his beloved country. a country she would later become part of as he wished for her to live there for a time to remember her roots. for a time she did; often visiting a childhood friend of hers by the name of lappland and experiencing the sights of brunello over the course of two years. however, throughout those years texas had began to feel as if this life presented to her was not what she wanted. or really, what she believed was good for anyone involved whenever the saluzzo familiga, lappland's own, had begun brewing a war against another familiga known as the moretti. the moretti had a partnership with texas' father giuseppe, the saluzzo of course had one with her grandfather salvadore. both sides were having increasingly larger tension and texas could hardly remember a time when her father and grandfather did not argue whether it was in her presence or not.
the tension would have soon exploded across her two year stay in brunello with the height of it being texas helping lappland kill one of signora sicilia's fangs, the boca al lupo and resulted in lappland becoming infected with oripathy before she left against her own father's wishes. alberto saluzzo, the saluzzo patriarch had intended for lappland to murder texas as a scapegoat for his war against the moretti, but she refused and went against his orders. afterward, what texas had thought would be done was far from it; her return was greeted by what her father decided was time for revolution. a murder had been done and the golden child of the texas familiga who was often said to be more siracusan than those in siracusa found herself presented with a choice. a choice to die with her familiga or a choice to stand against the wishes of her father who not only had killed her grandfather in cold blood, but also desired to establish the texas familiga as being separate from siracusa. forever uncontrolled as an act of rebellion against the system. texas for her part made her choice: that night she committed patricide, she killed those who she once walked at the side of, and set the mansion ablaze because no longer did texas wish to be part of this bloody system. no longer did she desire to be of the mafiosi, the familige, and everything that siracusa's law of the jungle stood for after being taunted for so long with words about how she would never betray her familiga. as it turns out: she did have it in her and all it took was losing the sole person that had wished for texas' life to be every bit how he envisioned siracusa once as. full of honor and integrity.
on the night she left, she was terribly injured from a duel with lappland before the burning mansion in columbia yet lived. lappland had set about most of her actions to directly hurt the saluzzo familiga and intended for texas to kill her that night, instead, texas spared her due to realizing her intentions and only left as the reporters arrived. not before heavily injuring her old friend. with nowhere to go and finding herself aimless, texas was full of emotions she once buried down. primarily resentment, anger, and doubt toward everything texas had dealt with. things which could have overtaken her had it not been for the beastlord known as the emperor deciding to take this lone wolf in before she got herself killed and give her a distraction. that seven year distraction he gave her was the logistics company, penguin logistics, in thought that she wouldn't have time to be angry if she could focus her energy elsewhere.
that he could get some much-needed life back in her after seeing how corpse-like she is. eventually, texas felt alive again, made friends with her unusual and misfit coworkers who most certainly did not fit the idea of couriers themselves. throughout that time, she would feel more beyond her prickly nature, her ice queen demeanor, and found herself with what she thought to be a new home in lungmen. as well as helping rhodes island in their quest to stop the further spread of oripathy even if texas provided help by delivering much needed medical supplies, toys for the children, and other things ordered/sent to their landship. there were still the nightmares and her struggles with sleeping yet texas couldn't complain. her reasons were not for anything noble, but because she wished to whenever one day, siracusa came calling back for her....

to mention this, i go with the idea that texas is 23–24 years old, due to her age being unknown outside of mentions of her being fairly young during her mafia days.
there also is another thing that may come up pertaining to her old life, specifically the usual with the mafia from murder, alcohol, drugs, and other things as a blanket cw here. as a warning, she has incredibly mixed feelings about her old life and about the events of it.
