It's more like her strength was up there from her race. From what I remember of her introduction, she told everyone that she was a farmer's daughter originally before joining the army.

Do you know what wyverns are? Since I read about them in the library, think of her as like that. Something like a dragon, but tougher and much more physically capable. She has the horns of one, but she lost her tail.

I'm definitely... more comfortable with talking in person, honestly, but. I was just trying to practice using the pictures. In case it was ever necessary...

I can do that if needed, then. Back home, we had people from all walks of life at the company I was contracted to. Some had to be taught to read and write, others weren't used to being treated like people.

Yes, picture books are used mainly to help children learn to read, but....I think it might help you out. Since it can put the pictures to words and let you get a better grasp of it.
(a better grasp on reading might help her, it isn't like texas is above being patient for someone like this. literacy can take time, as long as the other person is willing to learn.)
I doubt they'll mind as long as we tell them that any damage was an accident if something happens. We can probably start with fairytales.

That's fine, some of the people from back home started from no experience themselves, too. Not everyone has the luxury of being able to learn, as depressing as it is.

Feels like they might be, despite the differences it's almost like there's something similar to what we're used to. Stories that sound familiar, or even simple things like with the wildlife.

That's true... I recognize a lot of animals and tree and plants... even though the people are really different in how they dress and act and build things.
I did notice the same thing, even if I had to change my vocabulary on how to refer to the wildlife instead of terms I used before. To give an idea, we called fish by "finbeasts" and birds by "wingbeasts".
