To me, they're just ears. Taking care of the fur can be a pain between it and my tail, that's if I get them dirty. I actually pierced one of my ears, funnily enough.
(not everyone is used to this. she's learned some might even ask her if they can touch her tail, though that was children. they liked to be around the wolf, this woman who brought them sweets during the first month of being in karteria. this same wolf who had become a presence more in the lives of east sophian's as time went on. of karterian's in general.)
They're a natural part of me, so I never pay them much attention. Kind of like how being on the sea is for you and Ace. It just becomes something that you get more comfortable with.

( he doesn't realize there is an actual animal called a mink. however, he's vaguely aware the term may not translate, considering ... there's a lot about his world that doesn't translate. like snail phones. )
You look mostly human, but have animal characteristics. A few of my Revolutionary commanders are like you.

There are other races aside from mine, though. There also is something a bit rarer of people being bipedal in the same way some look now while not shifted.
(she's honestly had to learn other terms, admittedly. terran terms can be difficult to translate: wingbeasts for birds, clawbeasts for things like bears, burden beasts for things like horses. not to mention the terminal disease of oripathy, now that might anger him if he learned how the infected were treated.)
I didn't know that, though.
(though texas feels slight concern, will he be okay? corruption takes many forms, her own just so happens to stir up more baser instincts that she ignores. tries to, anyway.)
It isn't easy on everyone....the things with corruption and natural souls. For a time, they had to get used to seeing me. I still make people uneasy.
But that's fine. They don't know me, I don't know them. Whatever thoughts they have aren't worth my time as long as we're all okay.
